These Plant Pie pots were originally created for the landscaping business, but have been adopted by the orchid world, and specifically those who grow orchids that have shallow root systems and a spreading growth habit, such as Bulbophyllum, and Mexipedium.  Or slipper orchids (Paphs & Phrags) that tend to form bunches or clumps over time.

The Plant Pie pot is round, with a distinctly rolled lip, and little raised areas on the bottom with many slits for drainage.     They come in two sizes: an 8" diameter and an 11" diameter.. both just a bit over 3" deep.
